Fairfax, VA – June 16, 2025 – Craxel, a leading-edge software company redefining how organizations harness data for AI-powered decision-making, today announced that Matt Kelley has joined the company as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the U.S. Public Sector. A former Senior Executive at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and accomplished entrepreneur, Kelley brings more than 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, federal technology leadership, and public sector innovation.
As SVP and GM of the U.S. Public Sector, Kelley will lead Craxel’s federal business strategy and execution, helping government agencies deploy the company’s patented Black Forest technology to solve their most complex data challenges—at any scale.
“Matt is a transformational leader with deep expertise in scaling complex government programs and driving innovation in cybersecurity and federal IT,” said David Enga, Founder and CEO of Craxel. “He understands what it takes to operationalize AI in mission-critical environments—and how to align data, people, and technology to accelerate impact. Matt brings a rare combination of government insight, technical acumen, and business leadership that will help federal agencies fully realize the game-changing capabilities of our Black Forest technology, empowering AI-driven decision-making at unprecedented scale to deliver real results. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
Kelley most recently served as an executive at Steampunk, where he led strategic growth and capture across its Homeland Commerce and Justice portfolio. Prior to that, he held several senior executive roles at CISA, including Principal Deputy Director of the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC) and Cybersecurity Division (CSD) Associate Director - Strategy, Performance and Resources where he led the alignment of $1.2 billion in annual funding for cyber defense and mission operations.
Before entering government service, Kelley co-founded ArdentMC and built its Homeland Security Division into a $20M, 100-person business unit. His leadership helped secure multiple high-value DHS prime contract awards, including EAGLE II, GTSS and ISEO. Earlier in his career, he supported international business development for NASDAQ-Japan, a joint venture between SOFTBANK and NASDAQ during the dot-com era.
“We are at a pivotal moment in our nation’s history—where the threats facing the United States are growing in complexity, speed, and scale,” said Matt Kelley. “To meet this moment, we must unleash American technical innovation to deliver real-time insights across massive, disparate data sets. Efficiency, scalability, and AI-driven capabilities must come together to solve our most pressing national challenges. Craxel is delivering a true breakthrough—an entirely new way to meet the speed, scale, and performance demands to address these challenges through advanced algorithms vs. current solutions requiring costly storage and brute force compute. I’m excited to join a company that isn’t just imagining the future of AI-powered decision-making but delivering on it.”
